The Somerville Homeless Coalition can continue working everyday to end homelessness and near-homelessness in Somerville and Greater Boston thanks in part to the efforts of organizers and participants of the 16th Annual Somerville 5K Road Race.

900 runners took to the streets  on Saturday and gave the event their fullest efforts.

The event raised thousands of dollars and helped to raise awareness of the Coalition’s work in the community.

45 sponsors supported the event and Martha Paxton became the winner of the Steve Burton Award with a fundraising total of $1,635.00.

Nick Welch finished in first place among runners representing all ages and experience levels.
