SHS girls soccer defeats Malden

On September 21, 2011, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

There was only one game last week, a 4-1 win at Malden. Highlights of the game included strong performances by sophomore Rachael Berry (one goal, three assists) and junior Natalie Henrique (two goals, one assist). Somerville went up 2-0 early and could have had a few more goals before halftime, when the score was 2-1. Malden scored on a fantastic shot from about 30 yards out that found the top corner of the net.

A pair of goals in the second half sealed the victory. The last goal was a great header by Rachael Berry coming off a corner kick by Natalie.

Coming up this week is Cambridge at home on Wednesday night and Everett away on Friday night.
