While responding to reports of excessive noise in the Somerville Avenue and Prospect Street area last Saturday, police officers reportedly observed the driver of a pick-up truck honking his horn non-stop at another motorist.
As traffic proceeded through the intersection, the truck, still sounding its horn, made an abrupt change from the left to the right lane, causing traffic to stop suddenly to avoid accidents, police said.
The truck then reportedly sped up and abruptly made a left lane change in order to be in front of the vehicle that the operator of the pick-up was honking at.
The officers at the scene pulled the truck over and questioned the driver, Fernando Peixoto, 29, of Brighton. He was found to be without a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
Peixoto was arrested and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
