The pharmacist at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Broadway did not like the looks of a prescription for Percocet submitted last Friday, so police officers were called in to investigate.
Upon arrival, the officers noticed a man who appeared to be very nervous and who attempted to leave when he noticed their arrival, according to reports. James F. Davison III, 38, was detained while the officers investigated the matter.
The pharmacist reportedly stated that he was very suspicious of the prescription because it appeared to be incomplete and also included an incorrect dosage.
Asked when and where Davison got the prescription, he reportedly claimed that it was obtained from his doctor “the other day.” A copy of the prescription in question was faxed to Davison’s doctor’s office for verification, but the office manager stated that the paper used was not like theirs and that Davison had not been issued such a prescription, police said.
Davison was arrested and charged with uttering false prescription and forgery of a document.
