Expanded network adds 12 new charging ports at locations citywide

Community members are invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony  to celebrate the recent installation of six new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Somerville, adding 12 new publicly accessible charging ports across the city at no cost to Somerville thanks to state funding.

This expansion adds to Somerville’s 14 existing public Level 2 charging stations, representing an almost 50% overall increase in stations. The new charging stations feature a modernized design and upgraded technology, delivering faster charging speeds while improving operational and cost efficiency.

These new EV charging stations are available for use by residents and visitors at the following locations:

The expansion of the EV charging network was coordinated by the City’s Sustainability and Environment Division and funded through the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s (MassCEC) On-Street Charging Solutions Program.
