Currently on view: Faces, Spaces & Places, an exhibition exploring artist displacement, advocacy, and the importance of preserving creative spaces. There will be three upcoming events related to the exhibition.

Be an ARTivist! Hands-on Art-making Advocacy Workshop
Saturday, July 11, 10 a.m.- 12 p.m.
A free, drop-in workshop for all ages! Create advocacy postcards and campaign signs with artists from Humphreys Street Studios and Central Street Studios. All materials provided.
A Narrative History of Somerville’s Brickbottom Neighborhood
Tuesday, July 14, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Brickbottom artist Randal Thurston will give a talk on the history of Somerville’s Union Square. Tickets available via Eventbrite.
A Matter of Light – Documentary Screening
Wednesday, July 29, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Documentary by Anne Continelli that tells the story of how the founding of Vernon Street Studios in 1974 helped transform Somerville into a thriving arts community while reflecting on the ongoing challenge of artist displacement.
