John J. Danieli – A lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away on March 29, 2026.

Born, raised, and educated in Somerville, he was the beloved son of the late John and Carolina (Picardo) Danieli.

John was a devoted family man who cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. One of his favorite things to do was go shopping with his daughter and spending quality time and making fond memories. 

John also had a wealth of knowledge about Star Trek. He loved watching the many reruns of the series and took great pride in his collection of memorabilia from the iconic show.

John’s Italian heritage shined through in the kitchen. Cooking was one of his true passions, and he loved preparing delicious meals for his family. For John, sharing food was one of the many ways he expressed his love and care for those closest to him.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Marie A. (Sinkiewicz) Danieli. Devoted father of Carolyn Danieli and John Danieli and his wife Sarah. Cherished brother of Lawrence Danieli, Antonetta Bither and her late husband Scott, Grace Maidrand and her husband John and Josephine Baxter and her husband Michael. Also lovingly survived by many loving nieces, and nephews.

A prayer service will be conducted in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Wednesday, April 8th at 10 a.m.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Services will conclude with interment at Calvery Cemetery, Winchester.
