Update: DEA follow up regarding Tuesday’s early morning operation that occurred on Broadway in East Somerville:

Two recent enforcement operations at locations in Somerville and Lowell resulted in the seizure of tens of thousands of counterfeit pills containing fentanyl and meth, 30 lbs of crystal meth, and 3 handguns. The Somerville Police Department, working with local, state, and federal partners, executed criminal search warrants in East Somerville yesterday. Law enforcement was able to remove dangerous illicit drugs and illegal firearms from our community. This was a criminal investigation, and was not related to immigration enforcement in any way. This continues to be an active and ongoing investigation. No further information or comment will be made available at this time.
