Q: Have you ever heard of Occam’s Razor—and what does it have to do with your money?

A: Occam’s Razor is the idea that the simplest solution is usually the best one
. And when it comes to personal finance, simplicity is often the fastest path to clarity, consistency, and long‑term success!

Here are three ways to apply it:
• Keep budgeting simple.
Instead of tracking every line item, look at total monthly spending on your bank or credit card statement. That one number often tells you everything you need to know about whether you’re overspending.
• Choose simple side hustles.
Service‑based work—like tutoring, cleaning, consulting, dog‑walking, or handyman help—is often far easier and more profitable than launching a complex product business. Simple = faster + more flexible + more liquid.
• Use simple investments.
A single ETF that tracks the total stock market or the S&P 500 gives you diversified access to hundreds of companies in one step. Low cost, minimal hassle, long‑term growth. Hard to beat.Bottom line: You don’t need complex systems to build wealth. The simplest habits and tools often deliver the biggest impact—because they’re the ones you’ll actually stick with.
