So, the first significant snowfall of the season may soon be here, leaving us with a picturesque Currier and Ives-type dusting of the region just in time to serve as decoration for the holiday season.

Does everyone love it? No. Does anyone hate it? Maybe. Some can live with it, while others wouldn’t live without it.

There are folks who just love feeling and hearing the crunch beneath their feet as they take a brisk walk after fresh powder has fallen. Children grow up playing in it – sledding, building snowmen, throwing snow (or slush) balls.

Some of us would rather not have to deal with all the digging out, the hassles connected with parking our vehicles, and sometimes bailing them out of impoundment, if we’re not good boys and girls.

Most of us seem to take the good with the bad, and the majority seems to have made their peace with the vicissitudes of the weather angels and demons.
