Somerville Media Center and The Somerville Beacon will host candidate debates for Somerville’s City Councilor At Large and Mayoral races on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 5:30-8:30PM at the Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theater, 55 Davis Square.  Admission is free and doors open to the public at 5:30PM for drinks and refreshments from the cash bar (ID required for alcohol).  No signs, banners, backpacks, or oversized bags will be permitted.

The At Large debate, 6:00-7:00PM, will be moderated by Keri Rodrigues, founder and president of the National Parents Union. The Mayoral debate, 7:30-8:30PM, will be moderated by Ben Orenstein, founder of the Somerville Beacon.

The debates are open to all candidates certified for the November 4 ballot. Special thanks to The Somerville Theater for their generous support of this event. Somerville Media Center will record and rebroadcast the debates at a later date. Please note that SMC is a neutral organization providing this public service to inform voters of their choices on the ballot and does not endorse candidates or platforms.  All debate content and questions will be managed by the third party moderators.
