Statues in Davis Square, Somerville.

Davis Square Neighborhood Council (DSNC) has been working towards 501.c-3 status for the past year. We are pleased to get to the point of electing our first Board.

DSNC priorities and projects:

  • Improving the Davis Square Plaza
  • Elm St. Development
  • Zoning for more housing
  • Community Path wayfinding and art
  • Pedestrian safety
  • Community-building

Board members will be key players in shaping Davis Square’s future:

  • Building projects are likely to be planned and started in Davis Square. Board members will be key players in negotiating with developers to ensure that the community gets concessions through a Community Benefits Agreement.
  • Based on the Community Benefits Agreement, other improvements to our Square will be funded.

Ballots can be cast at the Somerville Library West Branch on August 16 (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.), 23 (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.), and 25 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.).  They will be tallied on the evening of August 25.

Eligible voters include those who work, receive services, operate a business, regularly volunteer at an organization/agency, or own real estate within the Davis Square business district, and those who reside within a half mile of the boundary of the Davis Square business district.
