Our View of the Times – April 24

On April 24, 2024, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

Who among us doesn’t appreciate all the fine things that the Arts at the Armory gives to the community? All sorts of special events, entertainment, cultural celebrations, and so on.

It’s just a great institution that deserves our appreciation and support. This coming Friday, we all have an opportunity to join in a special event to benefit the organization, GLOWBALL: A Rave In Support of Arts at the Armory – The Center for the Arts at the Armory.

GLOWBALL will transform the Armory Performance Hall into an immersive Glow-in-the-Dark Rave created by DJ Saucy Lady with hypnotic visuals by Jay Medina, all in support of The Center for Arts at the Armory.

It is an anti-gala, and a coming out party for their newly upgraded Performance Hall. There will be no speeches, presentations or auction. Join in feting this glorious space and all of the transcendent moments it has provided to our community. This is set to be Somerville’s most illuminating party of 2024!

They will be honoring the following Somerville-affiliated awardees at GLOWBALL:

Outstanding Artist: Marcus Santos

Community Arts Advocate: Joe Lynch

Lifetime Achievement Award: Lynn Gervens (Mudflat).

There will be performances by Marcus Santos’ Grooversity drumming ensemble, and aerial circus performances by Ellen Waylonis and Sophie Kaufman from ESH.
