On Thursday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m., Democrats from Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 will convene at the Somerville High School Upper Cafeteria and elect delegates and alternates to represent each ward at the 2024 State Democratic Convention.

Registered and pre-registered Democrats in Somerville who will be 16 years old by February 15 may vote and be elected as delegates or alternates during the caucus. Youth (age 16 to 35), people with disabilities, people of color, veterans, members of underrepresented ethnic and racial groups, and members of the LGBTQ+ community not elected as delegates or alternates are encouraged to apply to be add-on delegates at the caucus or by visiting MassDems Convention | Massachusetts Democratic Party

The 2024 Convention will be held on June 1 at the DCU Center in Worcester. Delegates will convene to endorse candidates for statewide office ahead of the September Democratic Primary.

Following the caucus to elect delegates to the State Democratic Convention, each ward will meet to elect delegates to the Senate District Conference, who will elect a State Committeewoman representing the 2nd Middlesex District. Any registered Democrat can run to be a conference delegate. Only members of the ward committees can vote for the conference delegates.

Once the delegates are elected, they will attend the Senate District Conference, which will be held at the Somerville Central Library, 79 Highland Ave, Somerville MA 02143, at 2:00 p.m. on March 23. This conference will be fully in person.
