Somerville Seniors Thanksgiving Dinner

On November 15, 2023, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

On Thursday, November 9, the Kiwanis Club of Somerville once again hosted local senior residents of Somerville at the new Culinary Arts Department at the Somerville High School.

Somerville High School Chef David and his students prepared a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings followed by apple pie.

The Kiwanis Club of Somerville sponsors the annual event, and member volunteers serve the guests. Following dinner, Kiwanis members led everyone in singing songs from the thirties and forties, and awarding door prizes.

As always, the senior guests had a wonderful evening. Special thanks to Somerville Council on Aging for coordinating with the seniors.

Kiwanis main mission is to support children through many programs throughout the year, including bike safety, scholarships, Reading Is Fundamental, school supplies for needy high school students, etc.
