The Screening and Interview Team will review applicant resumes, conduct the first round of interviews, and narrow the candidate pool to a small list of finalists for School Committee consideration and interviews.

At their regular meeting on March 6, the Somerville School Committee announced the members of the new Screening and Interview Team for the Superintendent Search process. The Team includes representatives from the School Committee as well as SPS administrators, educators, and community members.

The Screening and Interview Team will review applicants for the position and narrow down the pool of applicants to a short list of finalists who will participate in public interviews with the full School Committee. As permitted by law, initial interviews will be conducted by the Screening & Interview Team in Executive Session. The Team will select finalists after initial application review and interviews. Finalists will be interviewed in a public forum in late March or early April.

• Alzimara Oliveira (Educator, Healey School)
• Samantha Patton (Interim Assistant Principal, Kennedy School)
• Karen Woods (SPS Chief Personnel Officer, WSNS Parent)

Once finalist candidates are selected, each candidate will visit SPS to tour schools and facilities and to meet with educators, staff, and community members before a final, public interview with the School Committee. The School Committee hopes to select a successful candidate by mid-April 2023.
