The City of Somerville seeks 20 community members to participate in a 75-minute online focus group about the historic Armory building at 191 Highland Ave. This focus group is one part of the ongoing Armory Master Plan process, which will guide the Armory’s future as a vibrant arts center for years to come.

In 2020, the City acquired the Armory building to preserve the facility as a space for the arts. Since then, an advisory committee of local municipal leaders and artists has worked with the City’s consultant, Create Today, to develop the Armory Master Plan. The Armory Master Plan will guide the building’s transition into a public arts center and outline how the space will be managed. The final plan is expected later this year.

Interested focus group participants should complete a brief preliminary questionnaire by Thursday, February 23, at somervillema.gov/armory. Selected participants will be contacted directly to schedule the focus group.

Individuals with disabilities who need auxiliary aids and services for effective communication, written materials in alternative formats, or reasonable modifications in policies and procedures, in order to access the programs and activities of the City or to attend meetings, should contact the City’s ADA Coordinator, Adrienne Pomeroy, at 617-625-6600 x2059 or apomeroy@somervillema.gov.
