Returning for its 27th year, the Somerville Homeless Coalition will be holding its annual 5K Road Race on Saturday, October 1st. Fittingly held in the heart of Davis Square the coalition holds the race to support those experiencing homelessness, eviction and food insecurity within the Somerville and Greater Boston area. With deep ties in the community, the Somerville Homeless Coalition holds the road race as a way to bring people together to help raise awareness for the underserved population.

The race will include certified chip timing, a continental breakfast and fun prizes for kids of all ages. The event is open to everyone and participants are encouraged to run, walk, jog or just go at their own pace. Registration is open until the race start time of 9:00 AM and can be done online or in person. Those not interested in running but still want to get involved can sign up to volunteer with SHC staff and clients during the race. If you are interested visit the Somerville Homeless Coalition website to learn more and register.
