Former police chief filling in as T&P director

Former
Acting Police Chief Bob Bradley will come out of retirement to take
charge of Somerville's Traffic and Parking Department until the city
names a permanent replacement this year, an e-mail from the city said.

Former
Traffic and Parking Director James Kotzuba, who helped implement
Somerville's soon-to-be rolled out parking regulations, left the job on
Dec. 24 for a position at Harvard University.

"I am confident
that Bob will capably lead the department over the next several
months," Mayor Joe Curtatone said in an e-mail to city employees.

Bradley
served as director of Traffic and Parking in 2005 before serving as
acting chief of police until Chief Anthony Holloway was chosen in 2007.
Bradley then retired after 38 years of service.

Nearly all of
Somerville's streets will become permit parking only beginning Jan. 4.
The Traffic and Parking Department will be open for extended hours
until Jan. 5. Details are available at www.somervillema.gov.
