Arrests made in connection with Mystic Ave. shooting

On Sunday, May 1, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the Somerville Police Department received numerous 911 calls for shots fired in the area of 460 Mystic Avenue. Upon police arrival, neither suspects nor victims were present. In the days following, Somerville Detectives worked tirelessly to identify who was involved in this shooting. The Somerville Police have identified two juvenile victims and two suspects seen in the  video below.



 

On Thursday, May 12, the Somerville Police Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of the Boston Police Department’s Tactical Team, Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force, and Massachusetts State Police executed a search warrant at a home in Dorchester. Pursuant to arrest warrants issued by the Somerville District Court and Middlesex County Juvenile Court arrested Teijhere Palmer (20) and a juvenile and charged both with unlawful possession of a firearm, armed assault with intent to murder and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling for their involvement in the shooting on May 1st at 460 Mystic Avenue in Somerville. Also arrested were Devonte Bowden (24) of Dorchester charged with unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition & Laurian Slaughter (45) of Dorchester charged with unlawful possession of firearm and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
 
In addition, a search warrant executed at this dwelling in Dorchester lead to the recovery of four illegally possessed firearms as seen below one of which was capable of firing in a fully automatic mode. Somerville Police Chief, Charles Femino, praised members of Somerville Police, the Boston Police and Massachusetts State Police who worked safely, efficiently and professionally to identify victims, identify the alleged perpetrators and taking four illegally possessed guns off the streets.
