Somerville Police public safety news: April 26 – May 2

Assault on police officer
 
On 4/14/22 at approximately 10:00 a.m,, the pictured individual was riding his bike on Somerville Ave. and punched an officer who was on detail. The individual continued to flee through the intersection of Somerville Ave. and Mossland St. The individual was described as a thin, white man, early 30’s, with a beard, wearing a black helmet, a black long sleeve bike shirt and black bike shorts/capris. Assault
On 4/29/22 at approximately 6:46 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Thurston St. for report of an assault with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated while walking in the area of 366 Broadway, he was approached by a light gray vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle asked the victim where he was from then pointed a black handgun with a red laser at him. The victim then fled the area. The passenger holding the firearm was described as man, in his 20s, wearing a black ski mask and a green sweatshirt.
 
Residential breaking and entering
On 5/2/22 at approximately 3:34 p.m., Somerville Police responded to a multifamily residence on Pearl St. for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated numerous items were stolen while the house was left unoccupied.
