The City of Somerville seeks three artists to serve on the newly created Somerville Armory Master Plan Committee. After acquiring the Armory building at 191 Highland Avenue last year, the city has initiated a master planning process to support the space as a City-owned arts resource. The Committee will guide municipal consultants and staff in developing the Somerville Armory Master Plan in preparation for transitioning the property into a public community arts center.

Composed of municipal leaders and local artists, the Committee will convene this spring and meet regularly until the Armory Master Plan is complete. Committee members will review feedback from residents and the local artistic community collected through a comprehensive public engagement process. The City seeks three artists for the Committee who reflect Somerville’s artistic community, including a visual artist, a performance artist, an artist of color, and a female artist.
