Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) is pleased to announce that Cambridge Trust has pledged to match the first $5,000 of donations for the Little Necessities program this holiday season.

Little Necessities is a locally funded program that gives SCES the flexibility to meet essential needs that are not covered by government programs; a new mattress after a bedbug infestation; a microwave for someone who can no longer cook due to memory loss; or a gift card to purchase emergency groceries are just a few examples of how Little Necessities provides help.

SCES Executive Director Paul Hollings thanked Cambridge Trust for helping to provide support for meeting unpredictable needs in a way that has a huge impact on individuals who benefit.

“We are so grateful for the support of Cambridge Trust,” said SCES Executive Director Paul Hollings. “Little Necessities provides help where it is needed most in our community, and we deeply appreciate Cambridge Trust stepping up to help us provide this vital lifeline for our older neighbors.”

“Cambridge Trust strives to give back to our communities, and to sustain a mutual pursuit of the common good,” said Cambridge Trust Vice President Commercial Relationship Manager Maria Montgomery. “We are thrilled to partner with terrific organizations like SCES”

The Little Necessities program provided assistance for more than 140 older Somerville and Cambridge residents over the past year.
