Glass House

I want to live in glass house
In the middle of the sea.
Tiny bubbles rising up
Underneath my feet.
I want to look down
And watch the light grow dim.
As the vast expanse of water
Stretches past my vision’s rim.
I want to watch the waves
Immerse my house in its shell.
As I lay on my white velvet couch
thinking of a future that only time will tell.
I want a hot hazelnut latte
With extra foam on top
As I watch the sun rise in the morning
while the waves rise and drop.
I want my house to have all white furniture
So the ocean’s blue is what catches the eye.
My house will smell like strong coffee
And fresh baked blueberry pie.
I want to live in solitude
With my books and maybe a spouse.
Because I want to live on the ocean
In my own little glass house.
