Police investigating shootings in Somerville

SUV on Broadway hit by bullets.

On August 9, at 11:00 p.m., shots were fired into a white SUV on Broadway in Somerville. The back of the vehicle had several bullet holes, and the windshield was shot out. No injuries were reported. 

On August 9, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Myrtle St for report of multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a male party nearby who stated that he and three other individuals were inside a parked vehicle when suddenly they were shot at numerous times. No injuries were reported. Police recovered nineteen shell casings and located several vehicles with ballistic damage. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Somerville Police Department at 617-625-1600 ext. 7231. 

 On August 4, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a male party came into the station and reported that on August 1. at approximately 1:00 a.m., he overheard two males arguing with each other in the area of 153 Washington St then heard four to five gunshots. The male party then found ballistic evidence which was processed by detectives.

    How would giving more funding to the SPD stop the shootings? That is unless every street corner has a cop on it. This is the dumb-ass right’s wet dream of a police state. Not gonna happen. Maybe it’s even these kooks who are doing the shooting.
