City FY22 budget meetings to continue in virtual format

On June 16, Governor Charlie Baker signed legislation allowing cities and towns to continue holding meetings virtually. The Somerville City Council will continue to hold ongoing Finance Committee and full City Council meetings on the fiscal year 2022 budget virtually. All planned budget meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and can be viewed by visiting the “Meeting Schedules and Streaming” tab at www.somervillema.gov/citycouncil or tuning into GovTV (channel 13 on RCN and 22 on Comcast).

The schedule for remaining budget meetings is as follows:

  • Wednesday, June 16, Finance Committee

    • Human Resources

    • Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development

  • Thursday, June 17 (rescheduled from Tuesday, June 15), Finance Committee

    • SomerStat

    • Office of Sustainability and Environment

    • Arts Council

    • Libraries

    • Parking

    • Law

    • IT

    • Council on Aging

    • SomerPromise

    • Veterans’ Services

    • Health and Human Services

  • Monday, June 21, Finance Committee

    • Department of Public Works

    • Parks and Recreation

  • Tuesday, June 22, Finance Committee

    • Enterprise funds, revolving funds, and PEG access

    • Water and Sewer

  • Wednesday, June 23, Finance Committee of the Whole

    • Questions and proposed cuts

    • Year-end transfers and appropriations to reserves

  • Thursday, June 24 (this meeting begins at 7 p.m.), City Council

    • Expected vote on the fiscal year 2022 budget
