There was one item on the agenda the special Somerville School Committee Meeting on Wednesday, February 17, and that was the vote to proceed with the ratification of the agreement to open schools to the public.

This includes only groups one and groups two, the special needs and ELO students and at capacities that are estimated to be 95 percent and 65 percent respectively.

The motion was made and seconded with a start date of March 4. The students in later groups will be subsequently placed into schools at a tentative 45 percent and at a later date that has not been announced.

Covid tests will continue and be mandatory for the students at the school and all precautionary measures that are warranted will be taken possibly such as gowns and other PPE.
