City of Somerville begins Phase 1 of the Massachusetts vaccine plan

On January 14, 2021, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times
The City of Somerville has distributed 200 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to health care workers and first responders in Phase 1 of the Massachusetts vaccine plan. One of the first to receive a vaccine was Sara Harris, the Public Health Nurse Manager for the City of Somerville.

Here’s what Sara had to say about her experience:

“As the City of Somerville Public Health Nurse Manager, I am extremely honored to help pioneer the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine here in Somerville. Through my work, I want to bring awareness and equity to those in the community most vulnerable to COVID and create a safer and more just city for everyone. I got vaccinated because it’s the first step to take care of not only my own personal health but the health of those around me. I want to lead the way as a Black woman and show that the vaccine is safe and necessary so we can return to spending time with our friends and families without risking their health.”
