Somerville resident Linda Sacenti submitted winning design for new City TV logo to be used on City TV Channels 13/16

The Executive Office of Communications today unveiled the winner of the 2010 City TV logo contest, Ms. Linda Sacenti, a Somerville resident and freelance videographer for the City.  Sacenti’s design was selected from a number of entries, for her use of the Grand Union Flag – which first flew over Somerville in 1776 – and web technology for the channel’s streaming video capabilities.  The new logo will be shown on City TV programs (channel 13 on RCN, 16 on Comcast), on the City website and in local print media, and aired in syndication on Cambridge City TV.

“As we continue to expand and improve our cable programming, and with the newest addition of streaming video from our website, we’re excited to include a new and improved version of our City TV logo,” said Director of Communications Michael Meehan.  “Linda’s design was one of several great entries, however she incorporated some great historical images that made hers the best choice for the contest.”

“We chose Linda’s design because it is modern, simple, and incorporates both our web technology and the Grand Union Flag in the channel numbers,” said Cable Programming Director Steve DeCarlo.  “It’s eye- catching as well, and overall provides the best all-encompassing idea of our City programming.”
