The Mountain

Towering and tall, rocky and icy with sleet covering the sides.

Boulders aplenty,  myriads of rocks of all types litter the edge.

Freezes and chills, wind blows, pebbles falling, raining and snowing.

Lack of oxygen, bright sun, are not enough to alleviate the body of cold, those who venture forward are ones who are bold.

What avalanches laid waste to the crevices, what fissures cannot be crossed, what items are needed to to get the top?

Can we survive, will we be able to thrive and pursue our dreams and it seems

that we might seek with our sight in spite of all that has happened, reach the peak,

cold, thirsty, hungry and meek.
