Made possible by a grant from the Somerville Arts Council, The Commute sits at the intersection of Boston theatre, public transit, and the present danger of AI agents running rogue. On November 1st, this new play is presented at the Rockwell in Somerville, starring two-time Elliott Norton award winning actor Anthony T. Goss of The Covenant. Four people are trapped on the Red Line heading towards Boston. Tensions build as they have to face each other, and themselves.
A twist at the end: one passenger is a disguised researcher from MIT studying the bystander effect, enlisting AI to run a forbidden experiment (important to keep secret to audience beforehand).
Full production of a new play by Karin Anell, co-produced with Cambridge-based TC Squared Theatre. Followed by a panel hosted by Joint Family-a non-profit in Cambridge-discussing threats and opportunities of emerging technologies (to protect twist at end-panel name is somewhat concealed)
