Somerville Public Schools is pleased to share that several local priorities have been approved by the Massachusetts State Senate as part of the state budget process. The approved items reflect continued investment in student opportunities, innovation, and enrichment across the district and community.

The Senate approved funding support for Career and Technical Education (CTE) equipment, technology for out-of-school learning, El Sistema, Somerville Theater Arts, and the Somerville Robotics Club. Each of these initiatives provides valuable opportunities for students to develop skills, explore interests, and engage in meaningful learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom.

We are grateful to Senator Patricia Jehlen for her advocacy and support of these investments in Somerville’s students and families. The approvals passed with unanimous support from the State Senate and were then signed by Governor Healey. We look forward to continuing to build on these partnerships and expand opportunities for students across our community!
