The “Slice of the City” event on May 20 took place in the playground of Arthur D. Healey School. “Slice of the City” events are scheduled regularly, in which free pizza is provided from contributors such as Leone’s Pizza, along with healthy snacks and water.

It is an occasion where the mayor serves food to the people of Somerville, and he, along with city staff, discusses issues of interest with the public.

Children who attended had lots of fun at the playground. They made use of the various playground features, enjoyed a slice of pizza, or watched the elementary school soccer team in a match on the soccer field nearby.

Overall, “Slice of the City” is recommended for those who want to have a chance to meet and hear the leader of our city, or to learn more about the various departments and their activities in Somerville.
