Somerville Police officer Ozzy Martinez became ill from the Covid-19 virus in March of 2020. After a month in a coma, he emerged facing heart, lung and kidney problems, including chronic kidney disease. Recently, his kidney functions dropped, putting him in urgent need of a Living donor for a kidney transplant.

The Somerville Police Department stands with Martinez for his many years of service to our community, and is working to help find him a living donor. If you are interested in becoming his donor or know someone who could be a potential donor, please contact the Somerville Police Department. He, his family, and the department will be tremendously grateful to hear from you.

If you are in a position to help Officer Martinez, please reach out as soon as possible. Contact the Somerville Police Department or the Mass General Hospital Living Donor program today.

  1. Ken Brociner says:

Ozzy is, really and truly, one of the nicest men I have ever known.

I’m too old to donate a kidney, but I sure hope someone will be be found who can!
