
A public information session regarding contamination at Conway Park will be held on Wednesday, December 5, at the Public Safety Building (Police Headquarters) at 220 Washington Street, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Weston & Sampson, the licensed site professionals in charge of soil testing, and City staff will be on hand to discuss the testing results and next steps as well as to answer questions. Representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) who have oversight over the testing and mitigation process will also be present to answer questions.

Police officers were dispatched to the Nike Factory Store at Assembly Row on Sunday on a report of a shoplifter who had fled the store.
The suspect, James Perry, had been caught stealing from Kmart earlier in the day, so police were familiar with his clothing and appearance. The Nike store management the officers that Perry had taken off the hat and vest he was wearing in an attempt to throw them off.

The community was invited to join area veterans and local officials on Monday, November 19 the Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill for a ceremony that celebrating East Somerville’s rich history and the legacy of Paul Revere.
The event kicked off with remarks from Lou Carrier, President of Distinctive Hospitality Group and Bryan Bishop, the Commissioner of Military Affairs and Veteran Services, followed by the unveiling of a new statue honoring Paul Revere at the corner of Washington St. and Inner Belt Rd.

Our View of the Times – November 21
Giving thanks for our blessings is normally an easy thing to do. We may often get caught up in the day-to-day trappings of scratching out a living, ducking misfortune, and seeking out an occasional highlight to add to our mental scrapbooks. Usually, though, we come around to feeling and expressing that special sense of appreciation and gratitude that comes in moments of quiet reflection just in time to validate ourselves as worthy recipients of such blessings.
