Isabella Shea, a second-year student at Endicott College, published a collection of poems, Living In Pieces, detailing her mental health struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic. The book was published in November 2023 with the intention of raising awareness about teen mental health. She hoped that her book would allow others, who were struggling, to know that it is okay to not be okay. Individualism is one of the many poems in Isabella’s collection.

Inspection program keeps hydrants citywide ready in case of fire; Temporary water discoloration may occur, but water is safe to drink
The Somerville Fire Department will begin the annual inspection and flushing of all fire hydrants citywide on Monday, September 15, 2025, concluding on or around Saturday, September 27, 2025. This annual maintenance program helps keep our community safe by helping to ensure hydrants will work properly when needed to put out a fire.
