Mary Cassesso of CHA has announced her run for Somerville mayor. Cassesso took out nomination papers today as a candidate for mayor of Somerville.
The Somerville Arts Council and Metropolitan Area Planning Council are conducting two surveys to find out if Somerville artists have stable access to space for their work. There are two surveys: one for individuals and one for organizations. Artists who live or work in Somerville are invited to take whichever applies to them.

During the month of May, Jane Sherrill’s painting Gypsy Moth is in a show at the pop-up gallery, The Art House in Powder House Square, 862 Broadway, Somerville, through May 30. Open weekend afternoons.

The new Metro North COVID-19 Vaccination Partnership – a consortium of nine cities, Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), and Tufts University – announced that it will open three joint vaccination sites to expand COVID-19 vaccine access in the metro north area. The regional partnership was recently approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as a part of its statewide network of vaccination locations.

For 36 years, the OPENAIR Circus of Greater Somerville has offered summer classes in circus skills for children, teens and adults. Again this summer, everyone is welcome to learn new skills and join the circus community.
All classes will run July 5 through August 6. This year some classes will be in-person at Perry Park on Washington Street near Union Square. Others will be online (both synchronous and pre-recorded).
