Lillian “Lily” J. (Ivester) DiFraia, a long-time Somerville resident, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 11, 2022. She was 86 years old.
Known affectionately as “Lily,” she was born one of five children in Cambridge to Ellen (Barrett) and Ernest Ivester She met the love of her life, Ralph DiFraia, in 1955 and together they began their family, enjoying many happy years together. They were always a striking couple, impeccably dressed, loved dancing, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Two of the openings must be filled by people who identify as having a disability and one is open to any Somerville resident or City of Somerville employee. Yesterday, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) announced her support for the growing coalition of consumer, civil rights, and labor advocates opposing a Big Tech sponsored ballot initiative aiming to rewrite key worker and consumer protection laws in Massachusetts. Congresswoman Pressley and Senator Lydia Edwards took to the stage at a gathering inside an East Boston community center surrounded by supporters of the coalition, including a number of workers employed by Uber and Lyft who oppose the companies’ efforts to take away the rights of low-wage drivers and delivery workers.
