Somerville Police officers were dispatched to a Canal St. location last Saturday on reports of a fight in progress.
Upon arrival, the officers encountered a large group of intoxicated and uncooperative individuals. They were informed that a man assaulted two women, but they were unable to locate any victims.

Today, the Somerville Media Center Is operating under the threat of eviction from the City of Somerville. We, believe, this eviction decision needs to be, immediately, reconsidered and reversed. SCM, in its original form, as Somerville Community Access television (SCAT) has been a fixture in Union Square for more than four decades. It has not only, in those forty plus years, been a pure vehicle for the first amendment expression, but has served as a gateway of communications for diverse populations of immigrants, youth, and marginalized population who otherwise would be lacking a voice.

Students from Full Circle and Next Wave recently volunteered their time and energies to projects for Habitat for Humanity/Boston.

Full Circle and Next Wave students recently completed two days of volunteering with Habitat for Humanity/Boston on October 18 and 25.
On the 18th, students worked on a house in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. Students Elkis “Kiki” Antunez Espino, Heidy Portillo, and Derrick Sams spent the day installing blueboard in preparation for the plasterers to come in. Kiki, Heidy, and Derrick were able to install blueboard to complete a stairwell and mudroom. Given a tape measure, a screw gun, and a little instruction, the crew was able to reach their goal by the end of the day.
