In this exquisite collection, poet Ruth Chad interweaves her keen attention to the details of our natural world with deep emotions of love, loss, joy, and grief.

Many of the poems in this collection (divided into three sections) focus on the poet’s mother who suffered from Alzheimer’s before she succumbed to the disease in her 90s. These poems read like journal entries with often just dates for titles.

Dennis Daly was born in Salem Massachusetts. He graduated from Boston College with a B.S. degree and earned an M.A. degree in English Literature at Northeastern University. He has twice visited Thomas Merton’s hermitage on the grounds of the Trappist Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. Daly has published eleven books of poetry and poetic translations. 25005121: On 1/28/25 at approximately 4:08 p.m., Somerville Police responded to a residence on Myrtle St. for a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated his brother had recently passed away and there were several belongings missing from his home.

Somerville Police continue to bridge the gap with city’s youth

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025 members of the Somerville Police Department attended a workshop hosted by Teen Empowerment to continue bridging the gap between the City’s youth and their Police Officers. Through group activities and one on one conversations the workshop helped build a more comfortable relationship between the two groups. Everyone is looking forward to future opportunities to work together and continue conversations to strengthen the connection.
