Somerville Media Center to present Public Service Award to former Mayor of Somerville Joe Curtatone

Please join Somerville Media Center in honoring former Mayor Joe Curtatone with our Public Service Award on Thursday, June 4, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Arts at the Armory, 119 Highland Ave, in Somerville. The celebratory evening will feature cheeses and specialty bites provided by Formaggio Kitchen and more, tasty drinks from Arts at the Armory, live music by Revolutionary Snake Ensemble, raffles, and a special presentation honoring Joe Curtatone’s long-standing advocacy for community media and Somerville Media Center. Proceeds from the event will directly support SMC’s  programs and services.

Collaborate with the city’s design team to help inform how our next new school building can serve the community outside of school hours

As part of the design process for the new school building at 115 Sycamore Street, all community members are invited to join a collaborative workshop focused on planning for community programming uses at the new school building. Please join us on Monday, May 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Tufts Administration Building Atrium Conference Room at 167 Holland Street. The feedback gathered will be used by the city’s project team and architects to help inform design efforts and work moving forward.

26021238: On 4/9/26 at approximately 2:40 a.m., Somerville Police responded to a business on Holland St. for an alarm call. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the owner, who stated a male party forced open the door and stole money from the cash register.
