At Somerville City Hall tonight, left to right, Councilor At Large Willie Burnley, Jr, International Brotherhood of Teamsters Eastern Region Political Coordinator Gerald P. Leary III, Teamsters Local 25 member Paul Weiskell of Somerville, Ward 4 City Councilor Jesse Clingan, and Ward 3 City Councilor (President) Ben Ewen-Campen.

Teamsters Local 25 praised the Somerville City Council today for its unanimous vote to pass a resolution aimed at stopping Uber, Lyft, Doordash and other so-called ‘gig’ companies from abusing drivers by misclassifying them as independent contractors.

There is something special about shopping for fresh produce, discovering unique arts and crafts vendors, and enjoying live entertainment in the open air. We feel a sense of camaraderie, too, as we gather to take in the sights, sounds, flavors and aromas that permeate each market site.

Leonard J. Rigione  passed away at home on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the age of 82. Affectionately known as Lenny, or Papa to his grandkids, he proudly served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He retired after 20 years with veteran status.

So, I was glad to talk a bit about Ginsberg and the Beat Generation, and my experience with him in Buffalo, NY, in 1975 (I tried to get him on my campus radio show Idea Exchange, to no avail).
