Somerville police set up a sting operation last week to nab three men allegedly trying to sell a stolen laptop computer on Craig’s List.
Police said the laptop was stolen in a home break-in at 75 Central St. on Oct. 15. Four days later, the victim allegedly saw the laptop for sale on Craig’s List.
Somerville Police Detective James Donovan called the number on the posting and expressed interest in buying the laptop, police said.

Benjamin Ribeiro, 20, of 3 Marcella St., Cambridge, Oct. 19, 6:08 p.m., arrested on Mystic Avenue and charged with receiving stolen property and conspiracy.
Joseph Cardosi, 46, of 37 Montgomary St., Cambridge, Oct. 19, 9:44 p.m., arrested on Elm Street and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

With a tournament berth clinched, the Somerville High School boys soccer team is continuing to emerge as one of the area’s top teams. After cruising to a 5-0 win over Billerica last Tuesday, the Highlanders won 4-0 over Andover on Thursday night.
Currently, the Highlanders stand at 8-5-3 overall.

Police have arrested a Norwood man for an Oct. 10 stabbing on Central Street that left a 27-year-old Somerville man in critical condition for several days.
Robert Beatty, 39, was arrested and charged armed assault to murder after the victim identified him from a photo lineup, police said.

Four out of 10 Somerville residents is a young adult between the ages of 21 and 35. That means that the so-called Generation Y accounts for a hefty chunk of the city’s adult population, even if those numbers haven’t always translated into a high level of community involvement.

Join Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and community partners for the October SomerStreets event on Sunday, October 24th, and help the City of Somerville turn Somerville Ave. into ‘Pumpkinville Ave.’ From noon – 4pm, the event will include live music, games and activities, safe Trick-or-Treating and more, and the City is hoping to collect enough carved or decorated pumpkins to stretch from one end of the city to the other along Somerville Avenue. The event will also include a costume parade to kick off the afternoon.

Dapper Dan’s restaurant, located in the Assembly Square Mall from 1981 to 1996, had a reunion Saturday night. It was held at the Holiday Inn and let me tell you, it was packed!
