Through the Somerville Office of Immigrant Affairs (SOIA), the City is seeking an artist to create a bold, vibrant design that will anchor its 2026 Know Your Rights campaign — a citywide effort to make sure immigrant residents and all community members have clear, accessible information during a time when many residents are living with real fear and uncertainty and seeking to understand their rights.

I took the boys to Sears to buy spring jackets on Saturday. The place was mobbed with families buying Easter clothes. A couple of kids were screaming while the mothers attempted to get them to try stuff on. The fitting rooms had lines, and there were clothes on the floor that people plopped there instead of replacing them on the rack. You might say that mayhem was running amok in the store.

John J. Danieli – A lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away on March 29, 2026.
Born, raised, and educated in Somerville, he was the beloved son of the late John and Carolina (Picardo) Danieli.
John was a devoted family man who cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. One of his favorite things to do was go shopping with his daughter and spending quality time and making fond memories.
