Curtatone, Ward 1 Alderman Bill Roche, and the City of Somerville Parks and Open Space Department invite all interested community members to attend a public meeting to discuss renovation plans for Harris Park, to be held Wednesday evening, November 2, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Cross Street Senior Center. At the meeting, city officials and landscape architects will discuss the proposed plans for the upcoming renovation of Harris Park.

Local businesses destroyed in late night fire. - Photos by Bobbie Toner
A late night fire broke out Saturday evening destroying several businesses in Teele Square. Surrounding fire companies were called in to help battle a three alarm fire which broke out around 11 p.m. Saturday. The fire is believed to have started at Hawk Cleaners and moved quickly to adjoining businesses.

The SEIU Local 509, the Human Service Workers Union, would like to thank Senator Sal DiDomenico for introducing Senate Bill 1206, an act to promote workplace safety for social workers. This bill would require programs operated by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services to establish a workplace violence prevention and crisis response plan for social workers and human services workers.
