Making Pi buttons at the Pi Night.

Friday, March 14, was Pi Day (3.14). What better excuse is there to have a celebration of math with middle schoolers than π? On Monday before Pi Day, students, teachers, and high school Math Club members celebrated π at Somerville High School by eating pizza while spending an afternoon taking a math contest and then estimating, creating, answering questions, and ending with Table Talk Pies for everyone.

Obituary: Dominic J. ‘Donnie’ Dascoli

Dominic J. Dascoli, “Donnie”, of Somerville, formerly of the West End of Boston, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025. He was 85 years old. Born in Boston, he was the cherished son of the late Dominic and Anna F. (Zuzcowski) Dascoli.

Dominic was a U.S. ArmyVeteran serving from 1961 to 1964, as an M.P. Dominic enjoyed eating at the former Good Times Restaurant in Somerville, playing the horses at Suffolk Downs Race Track in East Boston and scratching lottery tickets. Dominic enjoyed living by Foss Park and Winter Hill since 1958.

Obituary: Daniel E. Mosher

April 5, 1967 – March 30, 2025

Daniel E. Mosher, known to many as Danny, passed away suddenly on March 30, 2025, at the age of 57. Born in Somerville, he was the cherished son of Carol R. Margey (Ivester) and the late Wayne K. Mosher. Danny was also the beloved brother of the late Kelly Mosher. He leaves behind his loyal dog and best pal, Bandit, along with many cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. Danny’s memorial service will be private.
