Mark McLaughlin, 26, of 184 Broadway, April 30, 11:40 p.m., arrested at 182 Broadway on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Paul King, 49, of 240 Albany St., Cambridge, May 1, 8:07 p.m., arrested at 55 Chester St. on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Somerville Historic Preservation Commission sponsors month-long events, culminating with annual awards ceremony honoring Somerville residents and homeowners

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, a 31 year old Boston Taxi driver was robbed by three suspects and beaten on Evergreen Avenue.  The suspects fled when police were called, but two were quickly apprehended.

They recently removed the “Lil Vinny’s” sign on the closed business and underneath you could see the outline of the old “Danny’s” sign. It is a reminder of the years gone by and all the changes that have occurred in Magoun Square. Since I wrote about Ball Square a few weeks back, I figured we would give Magoun Square equal time. Many of my friends have chimed in are and these are some of their memories. Please note that people have tried to remember names and places and we have all done our best to dig deep in our minds.

Police responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 220 Broadway last Saturday morning.

The alleged victim told officers that he had been threatened with a knife by one of two men who were together in the eatery.
