Historic Preservation events planned for October

ghosts_2_webJoin the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission this month for two events celebrating Somerville’s historic Milk Row Cemetery.

On Sunday, Oct. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m., visit the Cemetery for the Ghosts of Milk Row Cemetery Tour and hear from volunteers dressed up as “ghosts” of Somerville residents buried at the historic site. For attendees ages 12 and older, there is a suggested donation of $5. The Tour will coincide with the City’s SomerStreets event along Somerville Ave.

City seeks residents to test new website

On Thursday, October 15 and Monday, October 19, Somerville residents will have a chance to try out the newly developed www.SomervilleMA.gov. Volunteers will complete a 1-hour testing session at the Central Library, 79 Highland Ave. During the session, volunteers will be asked to find pieces of information on the website using a variety of devices, and then share their feedback on whether they were successful or not and how the process could have been better.
