Joseph Donovan, of 11 Woodbridge St., Cambridge, June 27, 9:04 a.m., arrested at Buena Vista Rd. on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Somerville’s 4th of July Holiday Schedule

On Tuesday, July 4, City offices will be closed for the holiday. Starting Tuesday trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup will be on a one-day delay. On the Fourth of July there will be no street sweeping and meter and residential parking permit enforcement will not be in effect.

She butted out, but that wasn’t the end of it

A police officer was flagged down in his cruiser last Saturday by two women in Davis Square.

As the officer parked his cruiser at Statue Park, across the street from the Davis Square  MBTA station, one of the two women walked up to the cruiser in a hurry. The officer asked her to back away from the door as he exited the cruiser.
