Three men flashing gang signs told a Somerville man he was in MS-13 gang territory on April 6 as the man stood at the corner of Pearl and Walnut
streets, then threatened him with a sling shot and two machetes.

Jose Moreno, 22, of 69 Florence Street #1R, allegedly held up a sling shot,
pulled it back while holding a rock in it and told the victim, "I'm going to kill
you with one shot."

Police said when the victim went into the Pearl Street market a 16-year-old juvenile holding a
22-inch long machete told him, "I'm going to slice you up if you come out of there."

The three alleged gang members told the victim he was in MS-13 territory and that MS-13
controlled the area around Pearl and Walnut streets.

Officers stopped the gang members as they were driving on Broadway, police said. A search
revealed two machetes, a sling shot, four rocks for the sling shot, marijuana and a knife. The
victim identified the three men as the ones who approached and threatened him, police said.

Moreno was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a dangerous
weapon, and threatening to commit a crime. The juvenile, of Somerville, was arrested and charged
with possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a class D drug, assault with a dangerous
weapon and threatening to commit a crime. Siggy Ochoa, 27, of 2 Austin St., was arrested and
charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime.
